"Glued up" blanks are preferred in order to control warping and splitting. Solid squares are unable to be properly dried in the kilns to minimize shrinkage as the wood cures to its stabilized point.

Humidity is a very significant factor in maintaining long life of all wood products. GWP operates special humidification machines which maintain relative humidity throughout our shop at 36% - 38%. Most glue used for normal manufacturing purposes will fail if exposed to water. There are glues available for use in high moisture areas, but this requirement must be clearly specified at the time of order.
